Masamichi Katayama seems to be gaining more attention in Japan, especially with his designs for the retail clothing store A Bathing Ape, better known as BAPE. Originally a founder of H. Design Associates, he recently created a new firm, Wonderwall, in 2000. Wonderwall specializes in commercial and retail interior design and architecture. His website touts that he “elicits an uninhibited sense of energy even within Japan, where in the world of architecture and interior design is known for being one of the most exhilarating.”
