In this year’s 10th Annual IIDA Student Mentoring Week, students were paired with local design and industry professionals to gain critical day-in-the-life interior design experience during the week of February 20-24, 2012. IIDA paired nearly 500 students with mentors across the country. A BIG thanks to all mentors for taking the time to share their knowledge with the next generation of designers and the students for participating! “This was such a great opportunity to participate in SMW! I experienced warmth and a great deal of knowledge that will prepare me for my final project in a commercial design class and a great contact for future references. Thanks to IIDA and Karen Diller!” ─Tinneka Hunter, Student IIDA, Davis College
“Unexpectedly wonderful! My day with Erica Rolin, sales rep for Crossville Tiles, proved to be a valuable and fun experience that became a tour of some of the most amazing design firms!” ─Rommel Ordoyo, Student IIDA, UCLA
“There are not enough words to describe the wealth of knowledge that Lisa White of Kimball offices generously shared. I will cherish this day for a lifetime.” ─Sharon Falcher, Student IIDA, Gwinnett Technical College
“I had such a wonderful experience working with Rayne Sherman and his staff of Interior Designers. It was a very eye opening experience to commercial Interior Design. I was a sponge that soaked up as much information as I could. I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to mentor with Rayne Sherman. This mentorship program with IIDA is such a great opportunity for those of us trying to get into Interior Design. So thank you very much for this memorable opportunity!” ─Andrea Collins, Student IIDA, Orange Coast College
